A second victim has died following a stabbing early Tuesday at a Marathon County home, according to a news release Wednesday from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department.

Brandon D. Noll, 22, is in custody and facing preliminary charges of first degree intentional homicide in connection with the stabbings, according to a jail intake report.

Deputies from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, along with officers with the Wisconsin State Patrol and Stratford Police Department, were dispatched at about 8:30 a.m. on April 7 to a home at 121625 CTH P in the town of Cleveland for a report of a stabbing. The town of Cleveland is near Stratford in western Marathon County.

Police discovered two male victims at the home who had been stabbed, one of whom died at the scene. The second victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said. The second victim was pronounced dead at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Noll, the sole suspect in the stabbing, fled the scene in a vehicle.  He crashed that vehicle in the city of Marshfield and quickly stole a vehicle from a nearby business, police said. He later led authorities on a high speed chase after being located in the village of Spencer.

In a coordinated effort, the Wisconsin State Patrol, Marshfield Police Department, Spencer Police Department, and the Wood County Sheriff’s Department apprehended Noll in Marshfield.  A trooper from the Wisconsin State Patrol conducted a PIT maneuver to stop Noll as he fled. The trooper sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.  Noll was taken into custody.

Autopsies are scheduled today for the two victims and they will be conducted in Madison.

A meeting is scheduled this morning with the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office to discuss the case.   Noll is set to appear at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a probable cause hearing at the Marathon County Courthouse.

Names of the victims will not be released until the family has adequate time to notify family and friends, police said.

“Our sincere condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends,” Sheriff Scott Parks said, in a news release.
