Wausau Pilot & Review

WAUSAU – D.C. Everest scored multiple runs in each of the first three innings and rolled to an 11-0 shutout of Wausau West in the Wisconsin Valley Conference softball opener for both teams on Tuesday at West High School.

Addison Kluck tossed a five-inning, complete-game two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks for D.C. Everest (2-1 overall).

Aubrye Klatt, Mara Meverden and Brooke Brown each had two hits, and Klatt drove in three runs in the win for the Evergreens.

Wausau West (4-1) was held to singles by Taylor Liebelt and McKenna Gale.

Wausau West is back in action Thursday at Stevens Point, while D.C. Everest will wait until Friday when it hosts Eau Claire North. Both games start at 4:30 p.m.
