Wausau Pilot & Review

WAUSAU – Brennan Fictum and Ty Teske combined on a two-hitter as the Wausau West baseball team downed rival Wausau East 6-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference opener for both teams Tuesday at West High School.

Fictum struck out eight in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win and Teske finished up with a 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball as West improved to 1-1 overall.

Tony Iaffaldano, Jackson Albee and Joe Graveen each had two hits for West, with Albee and Travis Klade each collecting a pair of RBI.

Oliver Turjaski had a single and an RBI for Wausau East (3-2 overall).

The two teams will meet again Thursday at Wausau East.
