Hands Around the Courthouse observance raises awareness of child abuse

WAUSAU – An event to bring awareness to child abuse in Marathon County will be held this week in downtown Wausau.

Hands Around the Courthouse will be held at 3 p.m. rain or shine on April 18 at the Marathon County Courthouse, 500 Forest St. Attendees should use the parking ramp on Fifth Street, where parking is free for the first two hours, and meet on the courthouse lawn directly across from the parking ramp.

Participants are encouraged to wear blue to support the cause.

Christa Jensen, Marathon County Director of Social Services; Lance Leonhard, Marathon County Administrator; and Marathon County Sheriff Chad Billeb will offer brief remarks during the short program.
