Wausau Pilot & Review
MARSHFIELD – D.C. Everest finished fourth, Wausau West sixth and Newman Catholic eighth at the nine-team Marshfield Boys Golf Invitational at RiverEdge Golf Course on Tuesday.
Stevens Point won the team title with a score of 349, 13 shots better than runner-up Merrill. D.C. Everest was fourth (367), Wausau West sixth (373) and Newman Catholic eighth (402) in windy conditions.
Conner Lingen of Medford won meet medalist honors with an 81, one shot better than Jacob Schmeltzer of Merrill.
Tanner Courtright placed third with an 83 and Blake Bangtson shot a 91 to tie for 15th for D.C. Everest.
Ryan Trucco led Wausau West with an 84, tying for fourth overall, and Russell Harder finished tied for ninth with an 89.
Newman Catholic’s top golfer was Samuel Nelson, who tied for 21st with a 93.
