STEVENS POINT — A 29-year-old woman was driving drunk with a 9-year-old child in the vehicle when she struck a motorcycle, killing the driver and injuring a passenger, police said.

Billie Jo McSherry of Tigerton is facing charges of intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and is being held in the Portage County Jail. Police say she crossed the center line on at about 2 p.m. Saturday on Hwy. 49 in the town of Alban, crashing head-on into a motorcycle driven by 48-year-old Robert Korhonen of Antigo.

Korhonen died in the crash. A passenger on the motorcycle, 25-year-old Stacey Zarda, was critically injured, police said.

McSherry, along with her and her 9-year-old passenger, were treated for non-life threatening injuries and were released, police said.

Online court records show McSherry has two prior OWI convictions and a long list of traffic citations. Her most recent OWI conviction was in May 2014.

Future court dates for McSherry have not yet been set.
