TOWN OF ALBAN — One person is dead following a single-vehicle rollover late Saturday in the town of Alban, police said.
A preliminary investigation shows the driver, a 62-year-old man, was traveling east on Saumer Road when his pickup entered the south ditch and struck a tree, causing the truck to roll over onto the passenger side. Emergency crews were able to pull the driver from the pickup, but the man died at the scene, police said.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle, police said. The man, whose name has not yet been publicly released, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Portage County Ambulance, Portage County Coroner’s Office, Rosholt Fire Department and Rosholt EMS all responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Portage County Sheriff’s Office and the Portage County Coroner’s Office. Additional information will be released once the victim’s family has been notified.
