A 50-year-old Lac du Flambeau man is facing three felony charges of incest by a stepparent following a months-long investigation into sexual assaults, according to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Deputies were notified in May of this year of allegations against the man by his step-daughters.

The alleged incidents took place in a home in the Town of Birch both in the summer of 2016 and in the spring of 2017 involving two victims under the age of 18 with one being as young as 16.

Bryan Thomas Hoban made an initial court appearance on Wednesday in Lincoln County Circuit Court where he was released after posting a $5,000 cash bond, court records show. Hoban faces up to 45 years in prison and $150,000 in fines if he is convicted on all three charges.

A scheduling conference is set for Sept. 7.
