TOWN OF WILSON — A 71-year-old man was cited for drunken driving Thursday after a crash that sent three people to the hospital, according to police.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Hwy. 8 at Honey Road in the town of Wilson, an area northwest of Tomahawk. Police say the man made a u-turn on the highway, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Prentice man.

The Tomahawk man and two people inside his vehicle were injured in the crash and were taken to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital, where they were treated and released. The Prentice man was not injured in the crash.

The 71-year-old driver was cited for first offense drunken driving and for driving left of the center lane, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. No criminal charges have been filed.
