KAUKAUNA — Skeletal remains were found in a burned car early Saturday morning, according to the Kaukauna Police Department.
Fire crews were called at 2:30 a.m. to a report of a possible fire on the Fox River near Holly Court, police said. When crews arrived, they discovered a car on fire on unused railroad tracks that run parallel to the Fox River. Skeletal remains were found inside the vehicle, police said.
Investigators believed the victim died inside the vehicle.
Police are now working to determine the identity of the remains found inside the vehicle and how the vehicle wound up on the railroad tracks. The cause of the blaze is also under investigation.
