WAUSAU — Brickner’s of Wausau will break ground next month on a new facility at their current Wausau location, company officials said Friday.

The new 40,000-square-foot facility will be built on the same lot as the current facility, 2525 Grand Ave., in Wausau. Steven Brickner Jr. said the upgrade will help the company, which is now the eighth-largest FCA dealer in Wisconsin, grow their business.

“It is going to be fully modern, and considerably larger than the current building,” Brickner said.

Owned by family members Jerry, Mike, and Steve Brickner Sr., the company employs about 58 full-time and about six part-time employees at its Wausau location, which specializes in new Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and Fiat vehicles along with a range of used vehicle and service options. Brickner’s opened its first facility in 1945 in Little Chicago.

Steven Brickner Jr. said the new facility should open around the first of the year.
