The Wisconsin Woodchucks offensive caught fire and hit double figures in an 11-3 win over the Lakeshore Chinooks Saturday at Athletic Park.  The win moves the Chucks back into a second-place tie in the Northwood League South Division with the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.

The Woodchucks opened the scoring by posting four runs in the third.  Nick Loftin’s triple into the right field corner started the rally.  A single up the middle by Valdes scored Loftin to get the Chucks on the board.  Valdes stole second and came in to score on a single to left by Alex Toral.  Reese Alexiades capped off the inning with a two-run homer to right, putting the Chucks up 4-0.

The Chucks added a run in the fourth, with Brandt Broussard doubling and scoring on a sacrifice fly by Valdes.  The Chinooks closed the gap to 5-3 by scoring three times in the top of the fifth.

A single and error on a high chopper to first in the seventh put Toral on second.  Zach DeLoach followed with a double to score Toral and give the Chucks a 6-3 lead.

Four Woodchucks walked in the eighth, with Payton Nelson coming home to score on DeLoach’s walk to give the Chucks a 7-3 advantage.  The other three walks (Loftin, Tommy Duddleston and DeLoach) came in on a 2-RBI double by Alexiades and error that allowed the third run to score on the play.  Alexiades came in to score on a passed ball to increase the lead to 11-3.
