TOMAHAWK — Fly fishing. Archery. Hammock camping.

These are just a few of the activities you can enjoy at the Wisconsin Becoming an Outdoors-Woman’s 28th annual workshop Aug. 24-26 at Treehaven Field Station.

Participants can choose from 26 hands-on activities. In addition to the aforementioned, you also can enjoy kayaking, Dutch oven cooking, backpacking, rifle and shotgun basics, cleaning and cooking fish and more.

Experienced BOW instructors teach hands-on classes in a safe and supportive atmosphere. All equipment is provided, and no experience is necessary. All classes are suitable for most adults and ability levels.

“BOW provides a safe learning environment where participants can try new activities, build confidence and get outdoors,” said Director Peggy Farrell in a news release. BOW gives participants the opportunity to learn in the company of other women, providing an atmosphere of camaraderie rather than competition.

This educational program is open to anyone 18 and older. The $399 per person registration fee includes four classes, two nights lodging, seven meals, instruction, equipment use and entertainment. This workshop is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and UW-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources.

Space is limited. For more information, contact Peggy Farrell at 715-346-4681 or [email protected]. Visit the BOW web site www.uwsp.edu/cnr-ap/bowWI/Pages/Events.aspx.
