MERRILL — A Merrill man is being held in connection with an investigation into child sex crimes in Lincoln County, according to a news release issued Thursday.
The man, whose name and age have not yet been released, was arrested early Thursday at a park in the city of Merrill, police said. He is being held without bond and is expected to appear at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lincoln County Circuit Court, when he will be charged.
Police did not specify the charges he will face, but will hold a news conference following the man’s initial appearance Friday to discuss the case with news media.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives trained by the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted the investigation.
No additional information is expected to be released until Friday.
