TOWN OF STELLA — One man is dead and another man is injured following an ATV crash Saturday east of Rhinelander, according to Oneida County Sheriff Grady Hartman.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call just after 5 p.m. Saturday alerting them to the crash on Spring Drive, police said. A preliminary investigation shows the driver of the ATV, whose name and age were not immediately released, veered off the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver died at the scene. A passenger in the ATV, described only as an adult male, was transported by ambulance to Ascension Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander. The extent of his injuries has not been specified.
The events leading up to the crash remain under investigation. Additional information is expected to be released on Sunday.
