MARATHON CITY, Wis. – The Marathon City Utility Department worked late into the evening yesterday to flush the water distribution system in the Village.

As of 10 p.m. October 10, multiple locations throughout the Village had been flushed and water clarity was restored.  Flushing operations resumed at 7 a.m.  Officials expect all affected residents will see the issue resolved by mid-day today.

The cause of the unusually high mineral content has not been identified but the source has been isolated and will be researched once the water distribution system has been cleared.

Utility customer with questions should contact the Village Hall at 715-443-2221.
