MARATHON CITY – Aluminum Fabricated Products has selected Marathon City as the location of its new Custom Metal Fabrication Facility and Corporate Headquarters.

The developer’s agreement, signed Nov. 1, calls for Marathon to sell the company a parcel at the east end of the Marathon City Business Park.

Construction of the new 30,000 square foot headquarter and fabrication facility is slated to start before the end of November with completion targeted for May 2019. The facility will relocate twenty five employees to Marathon City and the company currently has multiple positions available.

Aluminum Fabricated Products provides specialized design and metal fabrication services to a nationwide customer base. The company is located in Rothschild, WI and has outgrown its current facility. Representatives of Aluminum Fabricated Products contacted the Village of Marathon City in late 2017 regarding the availability of development sites in the Marathon City Business Park and discussions resulted in today’s announcement.

“We evaluated a number of locations in several communities as we planned our expansion,” said Mike Hafner, managing member of Aluminum Fabricated Products. “The site in Marathon City offers great access to STH 29, a developed retail sector resulting in services that can be utilized by our staff and provided room for future expansion of our business. The Village has been very easy to work with and we look forward to our future in Marathon City.”

The Village of Marathon City will be leveraging planned utility extensions in the business park to provide water and sewer access to the Aluminum Fabricated Products facility located at the north end of 154th Ave. The Village will also be improving 154th Ave to support the commercial traffic that will be generated by the new facility.

“We are excited to welcome Aluminum Fabricated Products to Marathon City and help them move through the construction phase of their facility,” said Marathon Administrator Andy Kurtz. “We have worked to streamline the process for companies to evaluate and select Marathon City as the home for their companies. We strive to remove barriers and move quickly to address questions.”
