How did you first get involved with The Salvation Army?
When I retired from Marathon Electric, within a week I applied to work for The Salvation Army. When I was a little boy, The Salvation Army brought me and my younger siblings Christmas gifts. I always thought to give back to The Salvation Army for the gifts we received.
What is your favorite memory/activity as a volunteer for The Salvation Army?
Working with all of the people who come by from North Central and group homes. These people are the best.
Why should others in the community care about the work The Salvation Army does?
Everyone is not as fortunate as others so why not help the people who need help? There is such a need for help. Being homeless is not the most comfortable way to live.
Anything else you would like to share about your volunteering with The Salvation Army to help encourage others?
I think there are a lot of people getting help who could be helping out The Salvation Army. I feel good when I volunteer. I also volunteer one night a week at Catholic Charities.
