TOWN OF ANIWA — Two children were among four people injured in a school bus crash early Monday in Shawano County.

The crash, reported at about 7:25 a.m., happened at the intersection of Church Road and Sugarbush Road in the town of Aniwa. An initial investigation shows the school bus was heading east on Church Road and was struck by a southbound Pontiac coupe, according to a news release.

The bus was struck near the driver’s side engine compartment.

The school bus driver and one child, a passenger on the bus, were transported via ambulance to a local hospital for injuries that appear non life threatening, police said. An additional child was also treated for a non life threatening injury and the driver of the Pontiac was treated at the scene.

The children not brought to a medical facility were transported to school. The Birnamwood Area Fire Department responded as a precaution due to leaking fluid.
