Evelyn Peterson

Evelyn M. (Mularkey) Peterson, 90, died on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at home. She was born on Dec. 23, 1927, in Wausau, Wisconsin, daughter of the late A.R. (Mac) and Elsie (Bast) Mularkey. On June 18, 1949, she married Donald J. Peterson at St. Therese Catholic Church in Rothschild, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2002.

She was a teacher in the D.C. Everest Area School District for 20 years and was known for her beautiful singing voice and being a soloist and member of the church choir for many years. Some of her most favorite times were spent in the camper on Lake Tomahawk and walking the beach in Florida.

Survivors include five children, Susan Gedert, Hudson, Florida, Sally (Dan) Pregont, Rothschild, Wisconsin, Kathryn Reevs (Kenny Ross), Eagle River, Wisconsin, James (Holly) Peterson, Lansing, Michigan, and Mary Krueger (Randy Meverden), Weston, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Fred Gedert, Hudson, Florida, Justin Kingston, Edina, Minnesota, Nicholas (Ann) Pregont, Dexter, Michigan, Danielle (Kenny) Spranger, Neenah, Wisconsin, Lilly Peterson (Jamey Mulligan) and Matthew Krueger, Portland, Oregon, and Meghan Krueger, Madison, Wisconsin; four great-grandchildren, Evan and Nolan Pregont and Jaxon and Macy Spranger. Evelyn is also survived by a brother-in-law Glenn (Sandy) Peterson, Carlsbad, California, and sisters-in-law Dona Mularkey, Dallas, Texas, and Marcie Peterson, Menasha, Wisconsin.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother James Mularkey, sister Carol Mularkey, granddaughter Michelle Seehafer, and sons-in-law Richard Gedert, Randy Krueger, and Carl Reevs.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, on Friday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Louis Britto will officiate. Friends may visit at the church from 9 a.m. until time of the Mass. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, she requests memorials to be given to the P.M.D. Foundation at 1 Greentree Center, 10000 Lincoln Drive East, Suite 201, Marlton, NJ 08053.

Florence Hoffman

Florence J. Hoffman, 102, of Wausau died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at Mount View Care Center with her loving family by her side.

Florence was born on July 12, 1916, in Wausau, Wisconsin, to the late Harry and Frances (Andrizewski) Bloom.  Florence married Elmer Hoffman in 1940 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Elmer preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2003.

Florence was well known throughout her life for her great sense of humor. She was an amazing cook who really enjoyed cooking for her family and friends on holidays. Florence had a talent for making Christmas ornaments, which she would give to family and friends.

Florence is survived by her children, Michael Hoffman, Dennis Hoffman and Debbie (John) Boyd; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene Schilling. Besides her husband, Florence was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Zietlow and Eleanor Timler.

Ida Vokral

Ida Dorothy Vokral, 94, Rothschild, passed away Dec. 14, 2018.

She was born June 11, 1924, in Cambridge, England, to the late Edward and Laura (Tookey) Caldecoat. She married Miles J. Vokral on June 5, 1945, in Cambridge.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Sharon) Vokral and their children, Ethan (Heidi) Vokral and Ashley (Jake) Crowe; and her son Alan Vokral and his son, Ryan (Ashley) Vokral. She is further survived by two great-grandchildren and her sister, Doreen Cornwall of Cambridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles, parents and seven siblings.

Memorial Service will be held 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2019, at Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. The Rev. Karen E. Tews will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Appleton Highland Memorial Park at a later date. Robert “Bob” Krueger

Robert (Bob) Charles Krueger, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 18, 2018. Bob was born on Jan. 23, 1944, to the late Leslie and Jeanette (Beste) Krueger. Bob worked at Badger Baskets, where his last project was making a bassinette for his new granddaughter, before he retired. Although retired, he was honored to babysit his two young grandchildren full time.

Bob enjoyed spending his free time taking in all that nature had to offer. He especially loved to fish, feed the ducks, squirrels, chipmunks and other wildlife, and he really loved the various pets he had.

Bob is survived by immediate family members, and two very special grandchildren, Tanner Krueger, Wausau, and Cassie Krueger, Wausau. Robert is proceeded in death by his beloved son David, brother Roger Krueger, sister Caroline (Carrie Krueger) Lashua, brother in law Roy Lashua, and his parents.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the Aspirus Wausau Hospital team and Colonial Manor staff for the excellent care our grandfather received under their supervision.

A service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at the Eagles Club in Wausau. Friends and family are welcome to come for a visitation from 5 that evening until the time of the service.

Betty Reichl

Betty A. Reichl, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at ManorCare Health Services, Appleton.

She was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Wausau, daughter of the late Felix and Alice (Sommers) Kostroski. Betty worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Peoples State Bank.

Survivors include her daughter, Alane Balster; grandchildren, Thomas, Theresa and Todd; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted (Vivian) Kostroski, Eugene (Sharon) Kostroski, many other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Alvin Reichl, a son-in-law, Daniel Balster, brother, Donald and a sister, Diane.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Peter Kieffer will preside. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services all at the church.
