WAUSAU – The River Valley Bank Foundation recently awarded the Hmong American Center, Inc. with a $5,000 grant to help fund the center’s rice assistance program.

This grant means the center can continue to serve over 100 Southeast Asian families in Marathon, Langlade, Lincoln and Shawano counties who are in need of help putting food on the table.

“The Hmong community has progressed tremendously in the last four decades, but despite the progression, there are still many families that are in need,” said Yee Leng Xiong, executive director of the Hmong American Center, Inc. in a news release.

A check presentation will be held today, Jan. 9, at the Hmong American Center in Wausau.

The Hmong American Center, Inc. will distribute vouchers to families in February. If you know of a family in need, schedule an appointment with Yee Leng Xiong, at the Hmong American Center, Inc. Call 715-842-8390, ext. 209, or email [email protected].
