A winter weather advisory for Marathon County is set to expire at 3 p.m. Saturday, but icy road conditions could snarl traffic and make for challenging travel this weekend.

Freezing drizzle and falling temperatures lead to icy roads and sidewalks today, with scattered snow showers possible this afternoon and tonight. According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, accumulations will be minor, but could make untreated roads and sidewalks slippery.

There is another chance for snow showers in north central Wisconsin Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Snow is possible across northern Wisconsin again Thursday night and Friday, weather officials say.
