BOULDER JUNCTION — Police have identified the man killed Wednesday in a head-on collision in Boulder Junction as 59-year-old Timothy A. Boss, of Manitowish Waters.

Three other people were injured in the crash, which was reported to the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department at around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say a Ford F150 and Chevrolet Silverado crashed while traveling on Hwy. 51 at Bakken Road in the town of Boulder Junction. Several people were extracted from the vehicles and all occupants were transported to Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, according to a Vilas County Sheriff’s Department release.

The extent of injuries sustained by the surviving victims has not been specified and their current condition has not been released.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Reconstruction Unit was called in for crash investigation. As a result of the crash, a portion of Hwy. 51 was shut down and traffic rerouted.

The accident remains under investigation by the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department and The Wisconsin State Patrol.
