WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

MOSINEE — City officials in Mosinee have declared a snow emergency, with temporary rules for street parking beginning at 5 a.m. Friday, March 1.

According to Mosinee Police Chief Ken Muelling, the recent winter storms left many Mosinee streets too narrow to allow for the safe passage of plows and emergency vehicles when private vehicles are parked on the street. Beginning Friday, the city will enforce alternate side parking on all streets until further notice.

Residents are advised to park on even house numbered street sides on even numbered days, and odd house numbered sides on odd numbered days.

Overnight parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. is also prohibited until April 1.

Violators will be ticketed and towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.
