WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW
TOWN OF FRANKFORT, Wis. — All lanes of Hwy. 97 at Hwy. N are closed Monday due to a serious crash, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The two-car crash was reported at 5:48 a.m. in the town of Frankfort, Marathon County Sheriff’s officials said. The road will remain closed until further notice, to allow for a complete investigation of the crash.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, the Edgar Fire Department, Frankfort first responders and the Wisconsin State Patrol have responded to the scene.
There’s no word yet on the severity of injuries in the crash. Wausau Pilot and Review will update this story when additional information is received.
The detour for northbound traffic is east on Blueberry Street, north on Pioneer Drive, west on Huckleberry Street back to Hwy. 97. Southbound traffic is detoured in reverse.
