MOSINEE, Wis. — Family members have confirmed to Wausau Pilot and Review that the man whose body was discovered Sunday in the Wisconsin River near Mosinee is that of Randy Driscoll, who has been missing since Christmas Eve.

The body was discovered on Sunday, March 24.

Random “Randy” Driscoll, 23, left his Wisconsin Street home on foot at about 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. He had no identification with him and was not carrying a cell phone, according to family members.

Mosinee police said Randy’s jacket was found along a walking trail off of Third Street in Mosinee. Several volunteer searches were organized in the days and weeks following Driscoll’s disappearance, but searchers were unable to turn up any sign of the missing man.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Driscoll is survived by a wife and infant daughter. An online fundraiser has been launched to help the family pay for Driscoll’s funeral expenses. Find details here.
