WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

A winter storm watch has been issued for most of central Wisconsin including Marathon County, in effect from late Wednesday through Thursday afternoon.

Heavy mixed precipitation is possible with total snow accumulations between 4 to  6 inches, according to the National Weather Service. About one-tenth of an inch of ice is also possible, with wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

Travelers should plan on slippery road conditions. Hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute on Thursday.

A winter storm watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that could impact travel.
