Robert Morris
Robert B. “Bob” Morris, 80, of Knowlton passed away at home under the loving care of his wife, Marily, and Ascension Hospice on April 10. Bob was born on Oct. 16, 1938, in Park Ridge, Illinois, to Glen E. and Katherine (Cunningham) Morris. Bob married Marily Sailog on Nov. 7, 2003, “a high point” in his life.
Bob joined the Marines after graduating high school. After the Marines, he worked mostly as an industrial carpenter on high-rise buildings in Chicago. Bob was a journeyman carpenter and in October 2009, he celebrated 50 years as a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners in Chicago. He was very proud of the lifetime award he was given for this achievement.
Bob loved the word of God and understood its promise. Bob was an avid reader. He loved winters in Florida, summers in Wisconsin and most of all Marily’s cooking. Heaven’s choir is that much sweeter with the addition of Bob’s strong, clear voice. We will miss his singing. “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In the Garden,” which were his favorites.
Bob was greeted in heaven by his parents; his brother, William; his sisters, Elizabeth (Katherine) Langworthy and Patricia Gohlke; and one son, Glen. Bob is survived by his wife, the love of his life and treasured gift from God, Marily. Bob has two living sons and their families: Ben and his wife Sarah (Brown) Morris, and their children Cora and Ivan of Fairbury, Illinois; and William Morris and his son William Jr of Madison, Wisconsin. Bob has three surviving sisters: Sister Mary Patricia of Austin, Texas; Jane Goers of Park Ridge, Illinois; and Margaret Al’ Oboudi of Portage, Michigan.
A celebration of Bob’s life and entrance into heaven will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 5:30 p.m. with a mass at Our Savior Catholic Church in Mosinee. There will be a gathering in the church basement after mass because Bob “wanted a party.”
Kathryn “Kitty” Nauman
Kathryn “Kitty” Nauman was knocking on heaven’s door and God opened it on April 9, 2019.
She was born on March 31, 1929, to Peter and Anna (nee Jones) Stygar in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She married her loving husband Vernon on Sept. 2, 1950. They moved to Wausau where they raised their family, moved to Madison and later retired to the Turtle- Flambeau Flowage where they spent many years enjoying nature.
Mom tended her garden and her green thumb was evident by her beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens. She loved to quilt and completed a quilt for each child, grandchild, great grandchild and made many more, so future great grandchildren would receive one of her special quilts. Mom loved getting away from the Wisconsin winters traveling with dad to Bullhead City, Arizona; and also looked forward to their trips to Alaska to visit her daughter and her family. She recently attended a baby shower for her soon-to-be 13th great grandchild and celebrated her 90th birthday by going out for lobster, which she truly enjoyed.
Mom will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, wit and hilarious sense of humor and her constant smile. In life, she was an eternal optimist and always ready with a good joke. She lived with happiness in her heart and through that loving wisdom encouraged those around her to do the same. Mom loved and took pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She left footprints on our hearts and we are thankful for the wonderful memories.
Mom is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Vernon; her children, DiAnn (Terry) Hrdina, Wausau, Jean (Jay) Schultz, Anchorage, Alaska, Mark (Julie) Nauman, Mosinee, Peggy (Dale) Zimick, Wausau; 12 grandchildren, Chad Hrdina (Michael Zgoda), Kelli (Torrion) Amie, Vicki (Steve) Hall, Brenda (Greg) Kaetterhenry, Jodi (Garrett) Newell, Jeremy (Amanda) Schultz, Jacob (Elizabeth) Schultz, Josh (Sara) Schultz, Ethan Nauman, Megan Nauman, Niki (James) Mataczynski, Kyle Zimick; and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Bob Stygar, sister Pat Heffernan, numerous nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Dave Gibson, Reno, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Helen Stygar and brother-in-law Bob Heffernan.
Private family services were held.

Susanne Loomis
Susanne Loomis, 70, of Hatley died on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at her home under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hopsice Services.
Susanne was born on March 1, 1949, in Wausau and was the daughter of the late John and Ann (Pazio) Warpehoski Sr. On Oct. 22, 1970, Susanne was united in marriage to William Loomis at St. Florian’s Catholic Church in Hatley. He survives.
Susanne worked for a dry cleaning business in Wausau for most of her adult life. Susanne loved to read, shop, cook and go for walks. She also liked to go to rummage sales and pet sit. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her animals.
Susanne is survived by her husband, William Loomis; daughter Deb (Dave) Tucker of LaCrosse; two granddaughters Ellie and Sophia; four siblings Evelyn (Marvin) Fandrey of Ringle, Johnny (Lindalu) Warpehoski of Antigo, Marianne (Mike) Sprague and Rosie (Jerry) Rew, all of Birnamwood and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at St. Florian’s Catholic Church, Hatley. Rev. Gregory Bohren will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

Raymond “Ray” Meverden
On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, Ray Meverden returned to his loving father at the age of 84.
Raymond was born April 9, 1935, in Birnamwood, Wisconsin, to parents Clarence and Theresa Meverden. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years working in aircraft maintenance, repairing both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. On July 9, 1966, he married Roselyn Andraschko and moved to Neenah, Wisconsin, where they raised three sons. Ray served as a firefighter with the Neenah Fire Department for 32 years, retiring as a captain.
He retired to Birnamwood where he continued to pursue his passions of gardening, bird feeding, crossword puzzles and tinkering. Known as “Tinker” to many, he could fix most anything mechanical or electrical and was always willing to lend a hand. An aircraft enthusiast, Ray would attend the EAA convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, every year, rarely missing an event. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his best and most loyal friend, Snickers.
He is survived by wife Roselyn Meverden of Birnamwood, sons Ron (Mary) Meverden of Hortonville, Rick (Lora) Meverden of Neenah, Randy (Jenny) Meverden of Fitchburg, and grandchildren Samantha, Cole, Ryan, Katy, Taygen, and Kamaria. He is also survived by siblings Rose (Charlie) Radtke, Irene Ruenger, Barbara (Doug) Praslowicz, Carol (Ed) Resch, Betty Meverden, Henry (Donna) Meverden, John (Helen) Meverden, Dennis (Sharon) Meverden, Tom (Sandy) Meverden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Theresa Meverden, and siblings, Dorothy Sekorski, Irma Martin, June King, Ruth Tafelski, Eugene Meverden, Irvin “Bud” Meverden, Robert Meverden, William Meverden, Elnora Meverden, and Mary Meverden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019, at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood. Fr. Joel Jores will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Darling-Gunderson American Legion Post #341. Visitation will be on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
