Marathon County volunteer opportunities: Week of May 6

RSVP Community Coffee at ADRC. You and your friends are invited to the RSVP Coffee hour on Tuesday, May 14 from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. at Aging and Disability Resource Center, 2600 Stewart Ave., Suite 25, in Wausau. Drivers Needed! Wausau Area Mobile Meals is looking for compassionate and caring individuals that enjoy meeting new people! We are currently looking for regular route drivers or substitute drivers. Call Doris at 715-848-5848 or wamobilemeals@yahoo.com.

Community Mentors. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin connects Big Brother/ Big Sister volunteers to children (“Littles”)  for individualized time and attention on a regular basis, typically two-four times monthly. Contact Beth at 715-848-7207 or bethk@bbbsncw.org.

Elementary Math Tutor! A fifth-grade student needs some extra help with math. Could you help? Wausau School District- O.N.E. Volunteer Program is seeking a volunteer who can tutor regularly. Any day of the week will work. Contact Roxane at 715-261-0584 or rhagedor@wausauschools.org.

Assist with Event Set-Up. Fromm Brothers Historical Preservation Society has several roles for people interested in bringing awareness to this historical site and story. Event set-up, as well as indoor/outdoor maintenance and tour facilitation are options. Contact Cheryl at cherylbrickner@gmail.com.

In-kind donated items needed

Homemade Knit/Crocheted Items: Faith in Action is in need of afghans, lap blankets, shawls and/or carrying bags to attach to walkers or wheelchairs that they can distribute to their care receivers. Contact Jamie at 715-848-8783 or wausaufiainfo@gmail.com.

Gas Cards. If you want to help Habitat for Humanity, gas cards would be helpful to make a dent in the amount of money needed to pay for gas, as they go to locations and go to pick up donated items. Contact Kim at 715-848-5042 or office@habitatwausau.org.

Snacks/Food: Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services will take in fruit snacks whole grain crackers and other healthy snacks. Contact Emily at 715-848-1457 or enowicki@chw.org.
