Staff members and management at all branches of Portage County Bank in Portage County have completed dementia-friendly business training, the Portage County Aging & Disability Resource Center announced in June.

Portage County Bank locations in the county include Stevens Point, Plover, Almond and Bancroft. The purpose of dementia-friendly training is to raise awareness of dementia and make the community more accessible for those living with the disease, and their caregivers. A better understanding of dementia aids in removing the fear, isolation and stigmas associated with the disease.

If you would like to participate in this initiative and learn about the advantages of becoming a dementia-friendly business, contact the Aging and Disability Resource Center at 715-346-1401.
