Police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting that happened Wednesday in downtown Wausau involving several teenagers.

Wausau Police Capt. Ben Graham confirmed that officers were dispatched at 2:41 p.m. to the area of North First Street and McIndoe Street for a report of a drive-by shooting.

“Limited details are being provided at this time as the investigation is ongoing,” Graham said.

Police are calling the shooting an isolated incident and say the general public is not believed in danger. No one was injured in the shooting.

Witnesses also report seeing a large police presence near the corner of Sixth Street and Bridge Street at about 5 p.m.; it is unknown whether the two incidents are related.

This is a developing story.
