A motion to reconsider declaring June as ‘Pride Month’ in Marathon County failed Tuesday, as supervisors voted against the reconsideration.

Dist. 34 Supervisor Gary Beastrom, who voted in favor of the original resolution, requested the reconsideration but did not respond to an email requesting an explanation.

The board in June voted to approve the declaration, which aims to to recognize the rights of all citizens in Marathon County regardless of age, gender identity, race, color, religion, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, or physical challenges.
