TOWN OF FLAMBEAU, Wis. — A 40-year-old Ladysmith man was killed Friday in a single vehicle rollover, according to the Price County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old boy, was also injured in the crash, which happened at around 6:20 p.m. on Highway 70 near North Fork Road in the town of Flambeau. A preliminary investigation suggests the boy lost control of the vehicle, missed a curve and rolled his pickup.

The 40-year-old passenger was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver was transported to Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. The severity of the teen’s injuries is unclear as of early Sunday.

Police say they believe alcohol is a possible factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Names are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
