Monk Botanical Gardens: Painting, Cleaning and Upkeep Helpers. Everyone is welcome to join one of the staff to help during open volunteer hours from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Thursdays.  Painting, staining, washing windows and cleaning up the yard are just a few of the tasks. Join in the Fun while Helping to Serve Lunch. The Aging and Disability Resource Center’s Senior Dining Center is located at Riverview Towers in Wausau (500 Grand Ave). Residents and anyone age 60+ are welcome to attend for lunch. Volunteers (of any age) are needed at 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (especially from 11 a.m.-noon) to help set up, serve food and clean up. Red Cross: Disaster Action Team. Team members directly help people affected by disasters ranging from home fires to tornadoes by providing food, shelter, essential relief supplies and hope.
