TOMAHAWK — On Sept. 11, the Tomahawk community will once again mark the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States in 2001.

A gathering will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 101 E. River St.

Speakers will offer remarks from the prospective of the armed forces, police, fire and EMS as to the lingering effects the events of 2001 still have on our nation.

Tomahawk VFW Post 2687 Honor Guard will offer a military salute in honor of their fallen brothers and sisters in the wars that followed the events of Sept. 11.

Participating agencies include,Tomahawk Fire Department, Tomahawk EMS, Nokomis Fire Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Tomahawk VFW Post 2687 and Generations Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Area school children will also be at the event.
