Police in Wausau are investigating a report of shots fired on the city’s east side.
Officers were called at about 1:40 p.m. to the 900 block of Washington Street for the report and discovered multiple shell casings in the alley between Washington and Jackson Streets, but have not had any reports of injuries related to the shooting.
A major police presence remained at the scene as of 3:30 p.m., according to witnesses.
In a news release, Police Capt. Todd Baeten said investigators believe juveniles are involved in the incident, which remains under active investigation. Anyone with information should call police at 715-261-7800.
