A Waupaca teenager is facing a felony charge of making terrorist threats after allegedly threatening to shoot students after lunch in the Waupaca High School hallway.
Dominick Silva, 17, is free on a $5,000 signature bond. Charges were filed Tuesday in Waupaca County Circuit Court, where a judge ordered Silva not to have any contact to with the Waupaca School District or premises unless for expulsion proceedings.
Police began an investigation after multiple students came forward. One of the students said Silva has been talking about shooting up the school for two years, but never seemed serious until now. Silva allegedly provided details of the plan, which included having a group of people close the doors before he started shooting.
According to the criminal complaint, Silva’s plan was to shoot as many students as possible, then pick them up by the hair and tell them “this is your last chance,” then shoot them again, according to the criminal complaint.
Officers also discovered a paper allegedly written by Silva praising Osama Bin Laden and the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks in the U.S.
Silva is being charged as an adult and faces up to 3 1/2 years in the Wisconsin Prison System and fines of up to $10,000. Future court dates have not yet been set.
