Results from the first ever Ironbull Ultra 50k/15k trail race are now available.

Brandon Schopf, 28, of Sturgeon Bay took first-place honors in the 50k race, crossing the finish line in 6 hours, 12 minutes and 11 seconds. The top female finisher was 23-year-old Bailey Boudraeu, of Stevens Point. Boudreau finished at 7:08:29.

Overall, 122 participants finished the race, which was held Saturday in grueling conditions. Cold weather, heavy rain and wind pelted the runners as they made the trek from Granite Peak to The 400 Block in downtown Wausau.

Ironbull’s next event is the Red Granite Grinder, a bike race winding through areas not usually open to bikes in addition to passing ginseng fields, dairy farm pastures, barns, and farm fields. To learn more visit www.ironbull.org.
