Dolores L. Lang, 93, Marathon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019.

She was born July 12, 1926, in the town of Rietbrock, daughter of the late Otto and Ida (Rosner) Lenhard. At age 20, Dolores met Hubert at a dance at Rib River Ballroom. They were married on July 9, 1947, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2000.

Dolores enjoyed a long life of giving back to her community and others, through generous amounts of charity work and helping others in need.  She always put others needs first before herself. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon, the Circle of Joy, Parish Council of Catholic Women and a member of the National Catholic Order of Foresters.

Dolores was instrumental in the idea and design of the Parkview Court in Marathon, which is an apartment complex for the elderly and disabled. She was on the board of directors of the Marathon County Housing Association.

For 15 years, Dolores was a home health aide for the Visiting Nurse Association. She always made a point of visiting and helping anyone in need. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking. Her house was always full of delicious smells and treats galore. Dolores was also an avid angler, enjoyed hunting and lots of camping. There were countless trips to Little Arbor Vitae Lake, which was a long-standing family tradition.

Dolores and Hubert loved to show their children the country, visiting many states and Canada. A highlight of traveling was a cruise to Alaska with many of the Lang family.

Dolores was devoted to her family and was most happy when they were around. Whether it was for the holidays, Marathon Fun Days with a lawn full of all the kids’ tents or just random visits, her heart and arms were always open to all.

Survivors include her children, Dale Lang, Rhinelander, Jeanne (Bob) O’Neill, Wausau, Douglas Lang, Forest Lake, MN, Heidi (Marvin) Sekorski, Marathon and Amy (Ted Szymanski) Lang, Marathon. Her grandchildren, Nikki (Christian) Arneson, Heather (Jake) Box, Andy Lang, Christopher Sekorski, Kori (Neil) Monicke, Stephanie Lang and Jeremy (Heidi Price) Lang. Her great grandchildren, Deja Truax, Devin and Tanner Rodman, Chloe and Aubrey Arneson, Cierra and Bailey Dumpprope, Braiden Johnson, Zander Lang, Draven and Ryker Monicke; and one great-great grandchild, Aria Dumpprope-Hopkins.  Further survived by her brother, George Lenhard, Athens and two sisters, Rita Schultz and Marian Braun, both of Wausau.

Besides her parents and her beloved husband of 54 years, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence; an infant brother, Wilfred; and one daughter-in-law, Angie Lang.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in being established in her memory.

Mother, you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you, you’re always at our side.

Wilbur “Wib” Kohnhorst

Wilbur “Wib” Earl Kohnhorst, 84, passed peacefully on Oct. 12, 2019, at Mount View Care Center, under the care of Aspirus Hospice. Wilbur was born in Dec. 21, 1934, in Wausau, son of the late Ted and Dorothy (Nieger) Kohnhorst. Wilbur graduated from Wausau High School and then joined the U.S. Army in 1955 serving in Germany.

After the service, he returned to Wausau. He married Mary Ann Hoss at Our Saviors Lutheran church in 1962. Mary Ann had five children (all under the age of eight) and he proceeded to adopt all five children. He loved his instant family.

Wilbur was employed by Fore Way Express, a job he loved for 32 years before retiring at age 58 and moving to Florida for 22 years. In 2012, Wib and Mary returned to Wausau. In addition to Fore Way Express, Wib co-owned, with one of his children, a local screen printing/embroidery store that was named after him, WEBKO.

In his younger years Wib enjoyed competing in motorcycle hill climbs, enduros and motocross racing.  His partner in crime was Jim Kronenwetter. They traveled the state competing and later hosted the WetterHorst Enduro, which was the gold standard for future Enduro competitions statewide. He also ran hill climbs and motocross racing at Cow Pie Park in Phlox, Wisconsin, for North Central Sports.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann, Wausau; five children, Kenneth Kohnhorst (Peg), Karen Hocking (Keith Koszarek), Kathleen Worden (Mark), Florida, Kelly Handrick, Minocqua and Michael Kohnhorst, Florida.  Grandchildren include Amy Hahn (Dusty), Eric Worden (Sarah), Adam Willhite, Justin Hocking, Jaci Conlin (Ryan), Jessica Kohnhorst (Randy Hage), Josh Kohnhorst (Amy) and Anna Richter (Kevin); a sister, Lucille “Lolly” Sopiwnik (Dave), Rockford; sisters-in-law, Doris Kohnhorst and Gloria Kostka (Jerry), Wausau; 13 great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Floyd Haupt.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Kohnhorst, nephew, Barry Kohnhorst, father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Cecilia Hoss, brother-in-law, Raymond Hoss and son-in-law, Thomas Handrick.

A private family service will be held.

William Schuett

William D. Schuett, 93, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, with his loving wife and family at his side.

Bill was born in Wausau on Oct. 6, 1926, son to the late Herman and Sadie (Cowling) Schuett. Upon graduating high school, Bill joined the United States Army and served his country honorably during World War II from Jan. 23, 1945, until Nov. 12, 1946, earning the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Meritorious Unit Award and the Army Occupation Medal of Japan. After his time in the service, Bill worked for Citizen Bank before starting his career as a police officer. He started with the highway patrol and worked his way up to Lieutenant Deputy Sheriff for the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department before retiring in late 1981. He was married to Erla Jean Patten from May 16, 1953, until her death in 1992. He later met Barbara (Jalinske) Holmes, and they were married on July 13, 1995. Although Bill had no children of his own, through his marriage to Barbara he gained five children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all who will miss him dearly.

Bill was a life-long Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed playing golf, was an excellent cook and made a mean gin martini. In his younger years he loved travelling and time spent up north with his brothers and their children, with whom he shared a close relationship. He was a good cop and a proud man. His memory will be held dear by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his second wife, Barbara; his brother Paul Schuett; five stepchildren, Michael (Kris) Fitzgerald, Scott Fitzgerald, Virginia (Paul) Pohl, David (Tracey) Hahn and Elizabeth (Mike) Ungar; eight grandchildren, Patrick, Laura, Michelle, Amy, Daniel, Ben, Joey and Sarah; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Marc, Kayla, Riley and Hailey; as well as his nieces and nephew, Judith (Tom) Hoover, Dennis (Susan) Schuett, and Sara (Kenneth) Schuett-Hebein.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Erla Jean Schuett; and his brothers, Fred (Jackie) Schuett and Donald (Lucille) Schuett.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at Restlawn Memorial Park, 235962 N. Troy St., Wausau, WI 54403. Pastor Jon Payne will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the chapel. Entombment will take place following military honors. Jane DeLisle

Jane Frances DeLisle, 66, of Wausau passed away on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at Cady Home in Wausau.

She was born to the late Clifford and Elinore (Miller) DeLisle on July 17, 1953, in Wausau. Jane grew up in the area and graduated from D.C. Everest High School. She continued her education at N.T.C.I. with a degree in graphic arts. Jane was employed for most of her career at Eastbay in the warehouse and later worked at Northern Valley Industries.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Kent and Nancy (Ronald) Shain; nieces, Amy and Jennifer; nephew, Mark (Sarah); and great-niece, Eliza.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Elinore; brother, David DeLisle; and brother-in-law, John Kent.

The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, by Deacon Michael Maher. Family and friends may call beginning at noon until the time of service in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau.
