A missing Dane County man was found dead on Saturday morning and his wife is receiving medical attention, according to the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Donald and Colleen Soper were reported missing on Thanksgiving Day. Their vehicle was discovered at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday morning in the 5500 block of CTH J in Dane County, sheriff’s officials said. Donald Soper was found dead in the vehicle. A Wisconsin Department of Justice Silver Alert, issued after the couple’s disappearance, has now been cancelled.
Authorities say Colleen Soper, Donald’s wife, is safe and receiving medical attention.
A Silver Alert is a public notification to broadcast information about missing persons — especially senior citizens with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other mental disabilities — in order to aid in locating them.
