Four veterans will be able to participate in the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials that stand in their honor thanks to a fundraiser held for that very purpose.
The Red White & Blue 5K Run/Walk, held on Sept. 28 in Rothschild as part of the Badger State Games and a veterans expo, raised $2,000 for the veterans to travel to D.C. and Nick Ockwig from the Wausau/Central Wisconsin Chamber & Visitors Bureau, Badger State Games, presented the money to Mike Thompson and James Campbell of the Never Forgotten Honor Flight on Dec. 11.

The Veterans Weekly Cup of Coffee group meets ever Wednesday at Denny’s in Rothschild from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All veterans of any age or era are welcome. The group provides support and information of interest to veterans. For more information, call Mike Heilmann at 715-846-0166.
