A rural Wood County home is a total loss following an overnight blaze, authorities said Monday.

Crews responded at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 to a report of a structure fire in the 6000 block of Hwy. 73 in the Wood County town of Hansen, authorities said.

When firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. No one was inside the home when the blaze broke out and no injuries have been reported.

A portion of Hwy. 73 between County Hwy. E and Hwy. 186 was shut down for several hours while firefighters brought the blaze under control. That section of highway has since reopened.

There’s no word yet on what caused the blaze, which remains under investigation at this time.
