A 47-year-old woman died early Sunday in a Iron County snowmobile crash, according to sheriff’s officials.
The crash was reported at 1:52 a.m. on Trail 17 just outside of Hurley.
First responders arrived at 2:04 a.m. and immediately began life-saving measures. The snowmobile driver was transported by rescue sled to a waiting ambulance and then to an Ironwood, Mich. hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
