At least three area fire departments are at the scene of a fire Monday morning at a large machine shed south of Marshfield.

The blaze was reported at about 9 a.m. on Hader Lane in the Wood County town of Richfield.

The structure is not attached to a home, according to Wood County scanner reports.

Firefighters continued to battle the blaze nearly an hour after the first call was received, calling in additional crews from Spencer and Stratford just before 10 a.m.

The fire appears to have originated in the rear of the building near a wood stove, but the exact cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.

There’s no word on injuries.

This is a developing story.
