Emergency crews responded Sunday to a fire that broke out in the basement of a town of Hamburg home.

The 911 call, just after 3:20 p.m. Sunday, was routed from Lincoln County to Marathon County and reported that the blaze appears to have started in or around the home’s breaker box.

The occupants of the home, on Grass Creek Lane, were forced to evacuate after smoke began pouring from the basement of the 1 1/2 story structure. No one was injured.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at about 3:30 p.m.

This is a developing story.
