Dear editor,

I would like to say a few words in support for Bruce Lamont. Bruce is a candidate for the soon-to-be vacant spot on the Marathon County Board, a position designated for the town of Rib Mountain which has been serviced by me the past 12 years. Its time for me to retire, visit the kids and play a little more golf.

If you know Bruce, then you know what a strong and dedicated citizen he has been and continues to be. If you do not know Bruce and take time to get acquainted, believe me, you will be impressed with his involvement, commitment and dedication to our community.

During the past 23 years that Bruce and his family lived in Rib Mountain, he has dedicated his time and talents in making people he has touched in our community a better place. Some of Bruce’s involvements are serving as full-time pastor for a large Wausau area church, serving as a mentor volunteer to inmates at the (Marathon) County Jail, men’s and ladies softball coach, member of the Wausau Lyric Choir, donated his talents as a board member for Greater Wausau Christian service, Greater Wausau Baccalaureate Committee and Orphan Grain Train and led worship services for jail inmates and patients at area nursing homes. All the while partnering with his wife in the raising of their four children (now grown). On top of that, Bruce is an avid deer hunter and sportsman in general.

Its almost unimaginable for one man to accomplish so much. But that’s Bruce. And he says that now that his world is slowing down, he has enough left in the tank to take on the challenges of the (Marathon) County Board. Bruce has earned my respect and support in the upcoming election. Hope you will join me and give him your vote on April 7.

Bill Miller of Rib Mountain
