Myron Duginski
Myron Paul Duginski died peacefully at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Friday, May 29, 2020, in Wausau, Wisconsin, at the age of 87.
Myron is survived by children, Cynthia Ezdon (Michael), of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Pauline Jandrin (Paul) of Omro, Wisconsin and Suzanne Duginski-Hartjes (Leigh) of Verona, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Natalie Ezdon (Nicholas) Poitras, David Ezdon, Jeffrey Jandrin, Rachel (David) Straus, Jonathon Jandrin (Stacy), Daniel Jandrin (Libby Stein), Zachary Hartjes (Abby Zaugg), Caitlyn Hartjes and Samuel Hartjes; 4 great grandchildren Benjamin Straus, Naomi Straus, Silas Jandrin and Olivia Poitras; his brother Lawrence Duginski and sister Helen Kolka. He is preceded in death by his wife Carole Duginski; sisters Dorothy Nettlekoven and Valrene Behrens, brothers Paul Duginski, Jr., Ralph Duginski and his parents Paul and Constance Duginski.
Myron was born on the family farm in the town of Corning, Wisconsin, to Paul and Constance Duginski. He entered the U.S. Army in 1951 and proudly served on the engineering team that helped rebuild Germany after World War II. He married Carole Jeanne Wagner on Sept. 7, 1957. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his family dearly. He was a generous man who also had a wonderful ‘dry” sense of humor. Most importantly, Myron was a compassionate man who took great care of his wife during her final years happily traveling the United States together.
Myron worked as an appraiser for the state of Wisconsin. He retired in 1988, but retirement did not last long as he opened his own appraisal business and operated it for approximately 10 years. He was an accomplished craftsman, builder, woodcarver, and gardener. He was a faithful Catholic who served his church through his volunteerism and being an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at St. Agnes Church for only immediate family due to COVID 19; a livestream will be available on the Brainard funeral home website. A celebration of Myron’s life will be scheduled at a later date with a reception to follow. Condolences can be sent to www.brainardfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the American Heart Association or St. Joseph Indian School. The family would also like to thank Shirley Hack for her devoted care and friendship she gave Dad for several years. She was his daughter’s eyes and ears in making sure he was safe.
The Rev. Robert Streveler
Father Robert (Bob) Alois Streveler, 77, of Marathon passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 29, 2020. He was born March 20, 1943, in Wausau, son of the late Michael and Anna (Osterbrink) Streveler.
Father Bob attended grade school at St. Robert’s School in Halder and later attended Holy Cross Seminary in La Crosse, for high school and college. He studied theology at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland, and was ordained a Roman Catholic priest for the La Crosse Diocese on May 24, 1969, at his home parish St. Patrick’s in Halder.
He served as associate pastor at St. Joseph in Menominee and at St. Luke’s in Boyceville until 1970, and St. Peter and Paul in Wisconsin Rapids until 1973. In 1973, he became associate pastor at St. Bronislava in Plover, as well as being the chaplain for the Christian Brothers and teaching at Pacelli and Assumption high schools.
His first parishes as a pastor were St. John the Baptist in Heffron and Guardian Angels in Almond, where he served from 1979 to 1985. In 1985, he became pastor at St. Marty, Help of Christians, in Greenwood and in 1989 he was named pastor of St. Therese in Schofield, then adding St. Agnes in Weston to his duties in 1999. He spent 2002 through 2008 at St. Joseph’s in Black River Falls before relocating to St. John the Baptist in Edgar and adding Holy Family at Poniatowski to his duties in 2011. In 2015, he retired and became the priest in residence at St. Anthony’s Spirituality Center in Marathon. In his retirement he continued being on call at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and helped out in area parishes as needed.
Father Bob also enjoyed reading, biking, canoeing and going on trips throughout the United States, and was the chaplain for several pilgrimages to the Holy Land and various places in Europe.
Survivors include sister, Joyce Athmann, South St. Paul, Minnesota, brothers, Earl (Violet) Streveler, Edgar, Jim (Carol) Streveler, Brule, Ray (Julie) Streveler, Edgar. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law Gerald Athmann.
Visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, with strict social distancing practices enforced. Due to the COVID restrictions currently in place, a private funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Wednesday with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a charitable memorial is being established in Father Bob’s name.

Jean Trudell
Jean (Jansen) Trudell, 62, Athens, died Friday, May 29, 2020, at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
She was born May 16, 1958, in Wausau, daughter of the late Alvin and Grace (Osterbrink) Jansen. On April 15, 1989, she married Andrew Trudell at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.
Jean was employed at Wausau Paper Mill, Brokaw for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching the many birds she attracted to her feeders, spending time on the water boating and fishing, as well as vacationing in Florida with family and friends.
Jean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband, Andrew, daughter, Kristi Trudell, grandson, Teagan Anderson, sister and brother-in-law, Cathy & Mike Hargraves, brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Mary Jansen, nieces and nephews, Jason (Becca) Hargraves, Michelle (Kenny) Kaminski, Amy (Adam) Frei, Ashley (Zach) Helbach and Kyle (Shelby) Jansen.
A Memorial Prayer Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Social distancing practices will be in place as suggested by current guidelines. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

Shirley Swanson
Shirley A. Swanson, 73, of Wausau passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Saturday, May 30, 2020.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1946, to the late Robert and Milda (Krull) Umland. She was raised on the family farm in Birnamwood, Wisconsin. She married Weldon S. Swanson on Sept. 17, 1966; he survives. They lived in Wausau, where Shirley was a homemaker after her children were born. She took pride in caring for her family members and grandchildren as they grew. Shirley also baby-sit her niece and nephew, Stephanie and Travis Hunter until they reached school age. They always held a special place in Shirley’s heart.
Shirley was well known as a wonderful cook and baker by all. Her passion for cooking and baking was evident early on as she won the Betty Crocker award in high school. Over the years her recipes were requested by many people. In her later years when she wasn’t able to cook anymore she received pleasure in teaching her husband how to do things her way in the kitchen and when he would ask her why he had to do it like that, she would simply answer, “Just do it!” Shirley enjoyed playing cards and always welcomed her daughter or grandchildren to join in a few games of Phase 10 or Skipbo. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and she took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Weldon; her children, Kurt (Doedie) Swanson and Sherry (Bruce Watson) Leitza; five grandchildren, Kaylee (Ben) Graefe, Heather (Josh Lee) Swanson, Derrick Bogan, Mitchell Swanson and Megan Leitza; one great-grandchild, Braelynn Swanson-Lee; siblings, Sharon (Bill) Hunter and Ron Umland; sister-in-law, Joyce Umland; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dolores and Dick Diestler; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Umland, a nephew Tom Umland and stepfather Walter Scholz.
A graveside celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at the Hogarty Cemetery, in the town of Harrison. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the cemetery. Shirley Reed
Shirley Mae Reed, 72, of Elderon passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Friday, May 29, 2020.
She was born in Marathon City on Aug. 18, 1947, to the late Arnold and Evelyn (Ohde) Tesch. She married Edward J. Reed on Aug. 20, 1977; spending the next 43 years loving each other unconditionally.
Three days a week, Shirley would go for dialysis, but she never let that get to her because she loved all her caregivers, and she made a lot of amazing friends because of her kidney disease. Shirley was a strong and outgoing woman who had an amazing personality, a kind heart, and was always the life of the party. Going to the casino, reading books, and doing crossword puzzles were some of the things that she enjoyed doing. But most important to her was her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Ed. Her sons, Roger Woods of Plover and Robert Woods of Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren, Kaylee (fiancé Zane Watts), Katarina Woods, Collin Woods, Justine Hanson and Jamie Hanson; as well as five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Aubrey, Jackson, Sophia, and Parker.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Woods.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau. Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
