Battery, bail jumping, disorderly conduct and drunken driving in Lincoln County Sheriff Department’s log for June 29, 2020.

A 32-year-old Lac Du Flambeau man was stopped and cited for speeding, operating after revocation 3rd, and no insurance Thursday afternoon.

A 30-year-old Chicago man was stopped and cited for speeding 90 mph in a 65 mph zone on Highway 51 north of Irma Thursday night.

A 51-year-old Mercer man was stopped and cited for speeding 91 mph in a 65 mph zone on Highway 51 north of Merrill Friday night. 

A 29-year-old Lac Du Flambeau woman was stopped and cited for speeding 98 mph in a 65 mph zone on Highway 51 near Merrill Friday night. 

A 19-year-old Merrill Woman was the victim of a scam on Friday.  She was contacted by someone on Instagram claiming to be raising money for a charity.  The scammer sent the victim a mobile check in the amount of $1,500 and wanted the victim to use the money to purchase gift cards, take pictures of the front and back with the receipts and send them to the scammer.  The victim deposited the money using her online banking and sent the requested information.  The scammer then sent another $2,000 and she bought some more cards.  The victim indicated that after the deposits were made and the gift cards were purchased she was notified the electronic checks were returned with non-sufficient funds.  The victim lost about $800 from her bank account and was charged $1,586 by her bank for the bad check.  In total she lost $2,386.  The Instagram account was identified as Phili.Pspaige3.

A 34-year-old Merrill man will be referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office on charges of battery, felony bail jumping and disorderly conduct following an incident on Sunday morning. 

A 58-year-old Marshfield man was arrested Sunday afternoon for 4th offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. 

Over the past several weeks reports of vandalism throughout Lincoln County have been reported.  An unknown person or people have been spray painting road signs, bridges and other property.  The suspects are spray painting swastikas, penises and vulgar language.
