Wausau Pilot & Review

The head custodian at Riverview Elementary School in Wausau has been named custodian/maintenance professional of the year by the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials.

Beth Dotter-Begay was nominated by the Wausau School District’s maintenance supervisor. The award acknowledges the outstanding contributions of those who make a difference in their school district, community and profession, according to WASBO.

Dotter-Begay, one of four award-winners this year, said she was stunned when she got the call.

“Now that I have had some time to let it all sink in, I am still on cloud nine,” Dotter-Begay said. “Being a head custodian isn’t just a job to me. I look forward to going to work every day. Who wouldn’t when you are surrounded by such a great team of staff and wonderful students?”

Dotter-Begay will be recognized at the 2021 Facilities Management Conference in the Wisconsin Dells. The ceremony will be held in March.
