Applications are being accepted at the Longfellow Administration Center, 415 Seymour St., Wausau, to fill the vacancy. Applicants must include biographical data, a statement of qualifications and a statement of interest for consideration.

On Monday, Sept. 28 the board will meet in open session to review applications and narrow the list of candidates to four. At this meeting, applicants and citizens can make statements on behalf of candidates.

All four finalists will be interviewed in open session at an Oct. 12 meeting, during which the board will select the new member. The final candidate will be immediately sworn into office.

Miles was first elected to the board in April 2010 and was a teacher for more than three decades in the Wausau School District.
